AGRICULTURAL APPLICATIONS
CONCERNS
Grain elevators, hog barns, poultry barns, and other agricultural applications can be at high risk for explosions.
They are enclosed spaces thot are prone to having large amounts of dust in the air
Dust and air in these spaces create a combustible mix, and using the wrong luminaire can provide an ignition source, creating an explosion.
Hog barns have minimal ventilation and corrosive gases, putting them at high risk for explosions and deterioration of materials
Poultry barns are often steam cleaned to remove bacteria and viruses at high pressure. so a hardy luminaire is needed to withstand this
RECOMMENDATIONS
Look for a Hazardous Location rated vapourproof luminaire. This means it is completely sealed to prevent dust and dirt materials from entering and causing a malfunction or explosion.

Tough, compact environments wIth frequent vibrations and temperatures that can reach over 40°C.
Mine explosions are a possibility, with the most common cause being a buildup of methane, a highly combustible gas, with a heat source.
Only a small amount of heat is needed to spark an explosion where methane is present, so a reliable luminaire is essential so that a faulty circuit doesn't cause a chain reaction.
