Important Information about Heat Pump grants!
Heat Pumps are rapidly becoming the fastest-growing segment of the home heating and cooling market, but the technology has been around for millennia. Ancient Egyptians cooled their homes by running water through their indoor spaces. Cooler outside water would flow through an indoor space, absorbing the heat, and then releasing it back outside on the way out. Our current air-source heat pumps work in much the same way, but now work to heat AND cool our spaces, and you don’t have to worry about a river running through your living room on games night. They’ve also never been more affordable.
Ouellet’s OTP-C series of heat pumps are on the approved product list for the Canada Greener Homes Grants, meaning that homeowners can receive rebates of $2,500 for 2-head systems, or $5,000 for 3+ head systems. Traditionally, the efficiency and flexibility of these systems have been offset by up-front capital costs, so there has never been a better time for homeowners to invest in an upgrade. Especially if they have also improved their insulation and building envelopes.
Heat pumps work in both directions, meaning they’ll heat your house in the winter, and cool your house in the summer. High-quality heat pumps like the Ouellet OTP series will do all of this efficiently and quietly. They also provide dehumidification and ventilation, keeping your air cleaner and fresher. A heat pump will transfer up to 4 times the energy consumed by electric in-home heating solutions, making them the most efficient electric home heating and cooling solution. Heat pumps are especially ideal for new builds in place of a traditional heating/air conditioning combination.
Ductless wall-mounted heat pumps, commonly known as "mini split" heat pumps, do not need air ducts like central systems. The outdoor unit (condenser) and the indoor unit (evaporator) are connected by refrigerant piping and electrical wires that pass through a small 3" opening in the wall.
Ductless wall-mounted heat pumps offer several advantages over central systems:
• They can be controlled individually and adapted to each room where they are located, thereby optimizing comfort while reducing energy consumption.
• They are more efficient because there is no energy loss due to air passing through ducts.
• They are perfect for retrofits where it's impossible or very expensive to install air ducts in existing ceilings and walls.
• They are less expensive to purchase and, because they are more efficient, less expensive to operate.
Ouellet’s INVERTER Technology Explained:
Unlike traditional, fixed-speed compressors that use a start/stop cycle, the variable-speed rotary compressor (INVERTER) in our units adjusts its speed to the minimum load required to maintain the desired temperature. Since it always takes more energy to start up a system than to operate it continuously, fixed speed compressors waste energy and lead to significant temperature fluctuations.
Here are some of the benefits of Ouellet’s INVERTER technology systems:
• Energy savings
• Greater comfort thanks to constant temperatures
• Desired temperature reached more quickly
• Longer system lifespan
• Quieter operation
Every Ouellet heat pump system comes with a basic warranty on parts (labour not included). For greater peace of mind, a labour warranty is available (sold separately) for the 1st to 10th year, on parts and labour with system replacement if the compressor fails.

Ouellet Canada, headquartered in l'Islet on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec, designs, manufactures, distributes, and markets standard, custom-made, and distinctive electric heating products.
Ouellet Canada had humble beginnings. It all started with an inventive and entrepreneurial Quebec native called Charles-Émile Ouellet. What started as a small backyard business in a makeshift workshop attached to his home was to quickly become so much more. By constantly pushing the limits of innovation and focusing on high-performance electric heating products, the company gradually conquered the Quebec, Canadian, United States and overseas markets.
Ouellet has a distribution agreement with Glen Dimplex Americas. and has become the official distributor of Dimplex and Convectair heating products in the Canadian electrical distribution market.
